the good doctor on: Spring is Here

Blog #48 Spring is here.

The arrival of spring is a very hopeful time: new shoots pushing their way from the soil and buds sprouting from long dormant branches. The smells, sounds and sights of new life are always welcome.

At Burlington Eyecare we are especially attentive to the sights around us. With the news of stay-at-home orders and a month-long restriction in our communities, it could seem to be another setback. But we have great news for Burlington and particularly our little section of Fairview Street. The flower beds of Burlington will be adorned with annual flowers once again this summer!

The city of Burlington has an “Adopt a Flower Bed” program and Burlington Eyecare has been part of this program for some years. The city gardeners will be working the soil and planting the beds in front of our building this spring, and soon, very soon, we will see splashes of colour spring up before us. How hopeful.

We must carry on in spite of grim news; the sun will rise tomorrow, and the flowers will bloom. We must plan for the future and keep on, remembering that there is always a need for beauty.

So plant on!
