HO HO HO! Merry Christmas!

Blog vol 5.24. HO HO HO! Merry Christmas!

Last night, we at Burlington Eyecare had our annual Christmas get-together, and The Edgewater Manor rose to the occasion once again. Just in case you want to take a special someone out for a nice evening, take the Fruitland Road exit off the QEW and head towards the lake, you can’t miss it. The original house was constructed in 1921 and overlooks Lake Ontario, and at this time of year, the decorations and cozy fireplaces create a festive atmosphere.

I must say I really enjoy being with my staff/friends on any occasion. Our lab manager and his optician wife have been kind enough to host a summer event the past two years at their country property. We take tours of the gardens and have a drink or two while competing in a Bocce tournament. It can get pretty intense, especially when trying to dodge their robotic mower! Did I mention the food?  lots of it, and delicious, another great time.  Then there are birthday celebrations, baby showers, and just the regular staff meetings.

So last night was a continuation. To make things interesting we played a modified version of the game Taboo on a Christmas theme, which we had a lot of fun with. Once again, Karen, our office manager, did a great job planning, and our suppliers were generous with take-home gifts and Johnson & Johnson (Acuvue) even provided antipasto platters as apps. There is a season for everything, and this is the season to celebrate.

Another highlight was the gift exchange, with presents changing hand many times. And to top it off we discussed some of our favourite Christmas albums to decorate by, an interesting list:

A Gene Autry Christmas

Christmas with Boney M.

Christmas by Michael Buble

A Charlie Brown Christmas

Christmas Album by The Beach Boys

Merry Christmas by Mariah Carey

The Nat King Cole Christmas Album

Christmas is a wonderful time of year, a time to really enjoy each other’s company, and remember what is important. I have a ton to be thankful for, especially the staff and patients that am blessed to work with.

It is with this in mind, I can speak for all of us at Burlington Eyecare,

Have a Very, Merry Christmas,
