BRIGHT RUN 2025: Supporting Hamilton Breast Cancer Research

Blog vol 6.8. BRIGHT RUN 2025: Supporting Hamilton Breast Cancer Research

It is hard to believe that it has been 3 and ½ years since Burlington Eyecare associate, Dr. Jerilee Nyman, died of breast cancer. She was a big supporter of the Bright Run.

Held every year since 2008, every dollar from this event goes to support breast cancer research in Hamilton. All labour is volunteer and all costs are sponsored, ALL the money is used for research.

“Bright Run is a non-competitive, family friendly 1 km/5km walk or run which is held annually on the first Saturday after labour day.”

WHEN: Saturday, September 6, 2025, 9:00-12:00 am (opening ceremonies at 10:00 am)

WHERE: Christie Lake Conservation Area, 1000 Highway 5 West, Dundas

WEATHER: Rain or shine

In 2024, $592,000 was raised for breast cancer research; in total more than $6 million since 2008. More than 1700 people participated in last year`s event! Jerilee’s family, especially her husband and two daughters along with her mother-in-law, Gerri Nyman, a breast cancer survivor herself, continue to be big supporters of the Bright Run. Go to the website and support this good work (link here).

We all know people affected by cancer of one type or another. Let`s encourage some people who are struggling and at the same time help fund the effort to cure and prevent breast cancer.

So operation ``BRIGHT, PINK FUN``: music, food, games, a walk in the park, encouragement for all.

 ‘til next week,
