BRIGHT RUN 2022: Saturday, September 10

Jerilee with her parents at Bright Run 2021

Blog vol 3.16. BRIGHT RUN 2022: Saturday, September 10, 15th Anniversary

In February, 2022, one of our doctors at Burlington Eyecare, Jerilee Nyman, tragically lost her 2 year battle with breast cancer. During that time Jerilee, her family, and friends pored their energy and enthusiasm into record-breaking fundraising for the Bright Run, an event that raises awareness and funds for cancer research.

Jerilee was scheduled to speak at this year’s event Saturday, September 10th, at the Dundas Conservation area. Gerri Nyman, Jerilee’s mother-in-law, a cancer survivor herself, will be speaking on her behalf. This will be a very emotional event for team Nyman.

We all miss her.

So think pink, put on your walking shoes, put the kids in the stroller or carrier and offer your encouragement and support for the many families struggling with cancer. This is a fun, outdoor, family-friendly event. For more info click

With sadness,
September 2nd, local ophthalmologist, Dr. Patricia Harvey, died after a 6 month illness. She is the sister of Hamilton ophthalmologist, Dr. John Harvey and Hamilton sports medicine doctor, Dr. David Harvey. I had the pleasure of working with her and sharing patients with her over the years. She will be missed by her patients and by the eye care community.

til next week,

the good doctor
