Dr. Mark Germain
Born in Timmins, Ontario, Dr. Germain attended the University of Western Ontario for his Bachelor of Science degree, then completed his Optometric Doctor degree at Waterloo. After two years in practice, he completed a Residency at the Centre for Sight Enhancement at Waterloo. Concentrating on the visually impaired and the elderly, he set up a mobile practice, working with the CNIB in Hamilton, Toronto, Mississauga and Brantford, and visited many Long Term Care Facilities in Central Ontario. Dr. Germain also taught Low Vision at the Centre for Sight Enhancement and Binocular Vision, at the University of Waterloo.
He then took on a teaching position at the University of Missouri-Saint Louis Optometry School, working in Low Vision, Optics, Binocular Vision and Ocular Assessment. Upon returning to Canada, he joined Drs. Watson and Wilson at their 3400 Fairview location in Burlington, Ontario, which he now owns and operates as Burlington Eyecare.
Dr. Germain is also a member of the Canadian Association of Optometrists, Ontario Association of Optometrists and the College of Optometrists of Ontario.
Dr. Germain is a family man, at last count, being called “Daddy” to eleven children. The practice and his family keep him very busy. He enjoys reading, gardening, and playing with his kids.
