EYE EXAMS

With the start of a new year, it's the perfect time to work your all-important Annual Eye Examination into your schedule! Eye exams for those 19 and under, and 65 and over, are covered by OHIP, so make sure to take care of your family's precious eyesight!    "Reading Week" and "March Break" are approaching soon, and great times to book your appointments!

A reminder that Burlington Eyecare is an active Participant and Provider in the "Eye See Eye Learn," program for children in Pre-K. More details are found under the "Children's Vision," tab in our website.

Remember if you are planning on a winter trip to the sunny south or to the ski slopes, make sure you have your sunglasses packed!  Whether they be prescription or non-prescription, it's essential to protect your eyes from the harmful ultra-violet rays!

DESIGNATED DRUGS REGULATION

In April, 2011, the Ontario Government approved a regulation that allows Optometrists in Ontario to prescribe medications for their patients, that will allow them to treat various conditions including routine bacterial eye infections to more serious diseases including glaucoma.

Both Dr. Germain and Dr. Sangster are highly educated and trained in prescribing medications for their patients, and readily provide emergency care appointments to existing and new patients. See more details under Eye Exams.

EYEGLASS DONATIONS

Used eyeglass donations are gratefully received at Burlington Eyecare, and are forwarded to M.M.I - Medical Ministry International, where they are dispensed via Eye Mission Projects several times a year in countries less fortunate.
